It’s not the photographer who makes the picture, but the person being photographed.

I tell a little bit of my life to them, and they tell a little of theirs to me. The picture itself is just the tip of the iceberg.

In a portrait, I’m looking for the silence in somebody.

Street portraits are an art form that can touch both the photographer and the viewer. They not only show us a person’s face, but sometimes also give the impression of looking inside the person. Some say that you look into their soul, for me this interpretation goes a bit too far. Nevertheless, a well-done street portrait can evoke a variety of emotions, from joy and hope to melancholy and sadness.

As a photographer, it can be a challenge to find the right balance between wanting to create an impressive portrait and respecting the subject. But when you find that balance, the art of street portraiture can have an unparalleled impact and touch the viewer deeply.
